Books to buy for SBI PO Exam:
The list of Books to buy for SBI PO Exam (State Bank of India Probationary Officer Exam) I provide here are personally verified by myself and by friends who are currently working in SBI Branches in different states across India after clearing SBI PO Exam. There are three phases in selection procedure. I’m listing books for only Phase I.
Total Marks = 100; Total time = 1 hour;
English Language – 30 Questions
First book mentioned here is well and good. It is equivalent to Wren and Martin. Second Book is little bit costly, worth to buy but not more than ‘English is Easy’. BSC Publication is simple and the best. even though many of us are from Matric or English medium schools we are little bit bad in English language so better choose English is Easy. Tamil Medium students can go for it without thinking twice.
-> English is Easy: If you follow this book (BSC Publication) *Recommended*
-> Objective English for Competitive Examinations (McGraw Hill Publication)
Quantitative Aptitude – 35 Questions
If you are not from Maths background and you have no tuition masters for Quantitative Aptitude you should go for Analytical Reasoning ((BSC Publication). Don’t choose this book if you have less time to complete vast syllabus. If you are an engineering student or a science student and if you can jump topics rapidly just by reading a brief notes you can definitely choose ‘Fast Track Objective Arithmetic- Arihant’. I have mentioned this book as Recommended because now a days 90% of the aspirants are engineers and so we will have some mathematical background to understand topics easily.
-> Fast Track Objective Arithmetic (Arihant Publication) *Recommended*
-> Analytical Reasoning (BSC Publication)
Reasoning Ability – 35 Questions
Instead of buying two books separately for Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning buy a single book from Arihant Publication. This book is better than R.S. Aggarwal.
-> A New Approach to Reasoning : Verbal, Non – Verbal & Analytical (Arihant Publication) *Recommended*
-> Non Verbal Reasoning (BSC Publication)
-> Verbal Reasoing (BSC Publication)
Practice Question Papers / Solved Previous Year Question Sets
As the name says it contains previous year question papers for both SBI PO and State bank Associates PO Exam. It is very important to practice for the exam then just learning to solve problems. so this book is mandatory for the preparation.
-> State Bank Of India And State Bank Associates Probationary Officer Exam Solved Papers 2000 to 2014 (Kiran Prakashan) *Recommended*
Many may doubt that why I had mentioned only BSC and Arihant publication? Why haven’t you mentioned R.S. Aggarwal? R.S. Aggarwal’s Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal and Non verbal Reasoning are just a basic level and difficulty of questions are very less and so we are upgrading to next level problems. I din’t find other books in market worth enough for money or difficulty level. If you have an alternate opinion just comment below so that it may help other aspirants.
