The question Does Lingayat Comes under OBC in Central List does not have a one-word answer. Lingayats are comprised of many sub-castes. Some fall under OBC and some under SC. There are also subcastes in Lingayats which doesn’t have a reservation and falls under OC.
In this post, I’m sharing details of the Lingayat castes that have OBC reservation. This is according to the central list. So if you are applying for any central government post like UPSC, SSC, NEET exam, Bank Exams you have to check in this list. The list mentioned here is based on the central list(September 2018). The central OBC list should be verified according to the state concerned. Eg: Caste Klingon in Karnataka may get OBC status but the same caste Klingon in Tamilnadu may fall under OC.
The Central OBC list mentioned here is associated with Karnataka. If you are Lingayat Uppara from Karnataka you will get OBC status for Central Government jobs.
No, Veerashaiva Lingayats does not falls under OBC category. In the state of Karnataka they belong to BC but in centre list they come under General Category and not under OBC. For a very long period they are claiming for OBC reservation in Centre list. Recently in 2019 Central government rejected their plea.

Yes, Veerashaiva Lingayats come under OBC. Veerashaiva Lingayat is a common name for Lingayats. There are many sub-categories within Veerashaiva Lingayats.
Names which have been mentioned in this list can claim OBC reservation. If you belong to Lingayat other than mentioned above you can't claim reservation.

If your mentioned caste as per the document is not in the central OBC list, then you won't be provided with any OBC certificate. So make sure of it. Then apply for OBC with the correct caste name mentioned in your state caste certificate.

Its not fair to avoid including veershaiva lingayats in OBC,,,many have Central govt Exams dreams,,,,in order to get in KAS exams,,Karnataka not held exams annually,,,,finally its cheating to students of veershaiva lingayats,,,whose population is in exceed.....
