Hi friends, currently I am central govt employee with 9 lakh per annum since 2017 and my parents income is less a than 8 lakh per annum. I am about to apply for civil services 2019. Can I claim that I am still under non creamy layer. (my friends are saying I am not at all under non creamy layer but sources in internet are confusing me). I hope my doubt will be busted now on this platform.
Your job or salary need not be considered.
Your parent's salary should be considered. If they are private employees.
Since they are earning below Rs 8 lakh you can claim OBC Non Creamy Layer reservation.

In every case, they have mentioned the word 'parents'. Page 9 Point 9 talks about income criteria. Even though 2.5 lakh was raised to 6 lakhs then to 8 lakhs other rules haven't been changed.
If they fail to understand, you can approach the collector office.
