Is RIOS Board Certificate valid or not for Government Exams

Some of my readers who are preparing for UPSC Exam has asked me whether RIOS Board Certificate valid or not for Government Exams?

Disclaimer: I’m not a concerned authority. I’m here publishing what information are available in some of the official websites.

Some websites claim RIOS to be fake whereas some claim it to be valid. This is going to be a detailed write up. So please read it completely. I have mailed the Council of Boards of School Education of India. If they replied to my mail I would even answer it in binary.

RIOS Claim their Certificate is Valid:

Point 1 – Council of Boards of School Education: In RIOS’s official website they have uploaded some documents relating membership to COBSE.

Point 2 – NVS Open School Website:

With this letter found in NVS open school they claim that they are recognized.

RIOS Certificate being not valid:

Point 1 – NIOS: NIOS has published the list of registered boards but RIOS was not mentioned in it.

It doesn’t have the RIOS mentioned in it.

In the above PDF link, NIOS has clearly mentioned that it has no link with RIOS.

Point 2 – CRPF: CRPF Official Website Doesnt mention RIOS board as approved board

Point 3 – Indian Coast Guard:

Official Indian Coast Guard Website lists number of approved boards to join in Coast Guard. RIOS is not found in it.

Point 4 – CSOSO: In 2015 Chattisgarh State Open School Office have cancelled the affiliation of RIOS. Where RIOS claimed they have registered with CSOSO in 2013.

RIOS by Chhattisgarh State Open School Office of the affiliation office 101 / Vidya / 2015 was canceled under Raipur dated 09.05.2015 ।

Conclusion:

It seems their registration and aggradation is expired. If any latest approval document(After 2015) is available they have to upload it. Until now I guess it is not accepted in some government exams.
