You will get a discount if you buy from these shops. I personally believe Bookmark shop is very good at discounts sometimes even better than Amazon and Flipkart.
All these book shops are completely the dedicated shops for all type of competitive exam books. You will find all sort of books for our exams. There will be discounts too. So there are more or less equivalent to Flipkart prices.
No online shopping websites sell NCERT books as there won’t be any profit in it. and also, there will be the shortage in these books in all 365 days mainly because of increasing competitive exam rush by unemployed engineers throughout the country.
It is purely your own decision. If you are comfortable with reading e-book simply download NCERT books from our website and start reading. Many of the aspirants like me may be comfortable with the hard copy so they will be searching for books in book shops. But if you prefer only hard copies you may be in trouble. As of current UPSC trend, you cannot gain all knowledge from just some textbooks. we have to be updated in current affairs so we have to use the internet effectively. for that w have to be reading e-books so start practicing to read e-books and that will help you later.
You can download old NCERT books at our website – Click here to Download old NCERT books. New books are available at their official sites. If you do not know which books to read go to Book list to read for UPSC Prelims.
I always recommend you to do both. Both of these will have positive effects. While entering into the book shop the smell of the books, the view of bulkier books, hearing aspirants sounds asking about the availability of some books to shop keeper will give us some feeling to read more and acquire more knowledge for getting into service. But while deciding which books to buy which books have controversies and more online portals will be useful. But don’t depend on reviews of books in online alone. some may even criticize Bipin Chandra’s book for being pro-Nehru. So that doesn’t mean it is a bad book and a biased perception which may not be suitable for UPSC. Get some ideas from your institutes too. ask your seniors or staffs before buying a book. Books will be cheap both in shops and online portals. As I mentioned early prices will be more or less the same in shops and online shopping websites.
